I vote for Deerhunter. I like that album. [cut+paste my review from DM2011.....blah..blah...its cool.....the george harrison of the band has one or two hits on it......the saxophone solo near the end gives me indigestion but no big deal....RIP big man).
Also Daft Punk champions the imminent takeover of the human race by cyborgs. Not cool. Plus didn't they just stand up Steve Corbert? Not cool man. Plus I love the movie the Deer Hunter. Skinny freaks vs. cyborgs. I vote freaks.
So, I really like Deerhunter. Last time, I think I picked another album by them as my first pick. This album is good too although a few of the tracks always leave me wanting. I've listened sort of half-heartedly to Daft Punk before, but for this round, Jeff and I listened to it for a good portion of yesterday. I think it's fun and very dancable. It has one shitty disco track but everything else is pretty solid. Maybe it's just the summery-good-time-mood I'm trying to cultivate these days, but I'm voting for Daft Punk. Take that skinny freaks!!!

I also kinda don't like the single from the album ("Get Lucky"), and I swear I'm not just saying that because "oh it's the single so that means I don't like it because I'm cooler than the average person". More like: The lyrics are dumb.
This album was a gift that I wouldn't have bought otherwise. I really enjoyed it for the first few listens, but now I'm feeling more meh.
Surprise hit with me: That one where the guy is talking over it about how awesome he is. Couldn't stand it at first. But it really rox by the end.
At first, I was all "Daft Punk vs. Deerhunter, what a challenge." Then I was like, "Daft Punk is soooo awesome at playing music that I only kinda like." Then I heard "lose yourself to dance" or whatever and I thought of this:
