VS.
Man, I'm getting worried a really mediocre PJ record is going to win this whole thang. (folks, she has like seven or eight albums herself that are better than Let England Blah). Anyway, anyone want to list some of your favorites for 2014 just for kicks as we vote on these two?
BEYONCE by BEYONCE
ReplyDeleteSee, I think this is a good matchup: Two different kinds of alt.
ReplyDeleteEnormous Door. But much love for Fiona Apple's album; good work.
Lukewarm vote for Fiona Apple.
ReplyDeleteNot even near to close for me: The Ex by approximately the distance the speed of light travels during the time it takes me to listen to Ms. Apple.
ReplyDeleteBOOM!
DeletePipin' hot vote for the Ex!
ReplyDeleteI mean look at these swell folks:

by "best of 2014," do you mean "best of late 2013?" In that case, does anyone else think that that Arcade Fire album was a bullet train to boresville or what?
ReplyDeleteAlso I'm really into Robyn Hitchcock again after 20 years.
DeleteAlso "Autre Ne Vuet." Tight pants whiteass r-n-b. Thought I hated it then I loved it.
DeleteI used to listen to Robyn Hitchcock too. Maybe I should give him another shot. What albums do you recommend? Also, Joe, have you listened to either Marnie Stern or Deafheaven? I have a feeling you might like them...or maybe I'm completely wrong.
DeleteFiona Apple by a landslide. New music that I like: Courtney Barnett's Double EP, Chance the Rapper's free mixtape, Doug Paisley's new album and for some reason, I've become re-obsessed with the Silver Jews
ReplyDeleteFiona for me.
